Spacetoon Go Brings ‘My Hero Academia’ to the Middle East in Arabic
The Japanese anime sensation My Hero Academia released in the Middle East on June 8, exclusively on Spacetoon’s online streaming platform, Spacetoon Go, featuring full Arabic dubbing.
The series, which originally aired in Japan in April 2016, is based on Kohei Horikoshi’s popular superhero manga. It follows Izuku Midoriya, a boy born without superpowers in a world where they are the norm. Despite this, Midoriya dreams of becoming a superhero. He is scouted by All Might, Japan’s greatest hero, who chooses Midoriya as his successor and helps him enroll in a prestigious high school for aspiring heroes.
Spacetoon Group ensured that the Arabic version retained the original character names and presented dialogue carefully translated from Japanese, maintaining authenticity for fans.
The Arabic dub also featured prominent voice actors familiar to Spacetoon audiences:
Mohja Al Shaikh as Izuku Midoriya
Amira Hothaifi as Amira Hothaifi
Taleb Al Refaei as All Might
Eyas Abu Ghazala as Aizawa
The launch of My Hero Academia supported Spacetoon Go’s strategy to expand anime content for Arabic-speaking viewers. The platform also streamed popular series such as Dragon Ball Super, Made in Abyss, Monster Hunter Stories: Ride On, Detective Conan, Hunter x Hunter (2011), Kuroko’s Basket, and Prince of Tennis.
Fans watched the first episode starting June 8 and joined Midoriya on his journey to becoming a hero.
