“AYAMI” was an initiative by the UNDP Regional Program for Arab States that aimed to raise awareness about the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the 2030 Global Agenda.
In November 2020, Spacetoon, the family content creator, provider, and broadcaster, announced its collaboration with the UNDP Regional Program for Arab States to support AYAMI, engaging Arab children and young adults in understanding the 2030 Global Agenda and preparing them to become drivers of related efforts.
Spacetoon began broadcasting the song “Life after Corona” on its TV channel, celebrating positivity and encouraging children and young adults to practice social distancing and follow health tips to help prevent the spread of COVID-19. Another song related to the AYAMI project, “My Goals,” was performed by talented young singers from various Arab countries who had previously starred in the Arabic version of the world-famous franchise The Voice Kids: Ahla Sawt. The song highlighted the 17 Sustainable Development Goals and presented them in an engaging and artistic way.
The music videos for both songs were made available on Spacetoon’s YouTube channel, Facebook, and Instagram pages, reaching a wide audience across the Arab world.
Commenting on the collaboration, Said Fayez Al Sabbagh, Spacetoon Group CEO, stated:
"We were very proud of this collaboration and thrilled to see these young adults use their talents to support such a purposeful goal. We shared the same vision as AYAMI, focusing on music and arts, and believing in the power of songs as a simple yet strong tool to deliver impactful messages that could effectively reach Arab children and young adults."
Talented Arab children and young adults were able to participate in the AYAMI initiative by applying online through a simple application process that involved completing an online form.
