Spacetoon Pictures Released Japanese Anime ‘Lupin III: The First’ on August 12

Spacetoon Pictures released a 3D Japanese animation movie titled Lupin III: The First across GCC theatres on August 12.

Audiences were able to watch the film in several languages, including Japanese, English, and Arabic, with professional dubbing delivered by Spacetoon.

Lupin III: The First took place in the 1960s, and the story revolved around a hidden treasure, which could only be obtained by stealing Bresson’s diary the hidden treasure of the Bresson Diary which aroused Lupin’s curiosity and prompted him to begin his journey searching for it, accompanied by his squad, Daisuke Jigen and Goemon Ishikawa. Lupin and his crew discovered later that they had rivals on this journey, including Fujiko Mine and another mysterious organization that used a young lady named Laetitia to execute the mission. Believing that whoever obtained the diary would gain absolute power and great fortune, all the rivals met at the climax of events, where adventures and exciting events unfolded.

The movie was first released in Japan, ranking #2 at the Japanese Box Office in its opening weekend and grossing more than $2 million before its worldwide release.

Lupin III: The First bore the signature of Takashi Yamazaki, the Japanese director behind many top-rated anime works in Japan such as Stand By Me Doraemon and Dragon Quest: Your Story.

The movie was nominated for Animation of the Year at the 43rd Japan Academy Awards, Best Animated Film by the Hawaii Film Critics Society, and Best Feature Film at the Annecy International Animation Festival.

Lupin III: The First was released on August 12 across movie theatres in Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, and Kuwait in Arabic, Japanese, and English versions, along with different subtitle options.
